What Traditional Thai Work Actually Feels Like
If you have only had oil massage, Thai is a different experience. You stay clothed in loose cotton. There is no oil. The therapist uses palms, thumbs, forearms, elbows and feet, and moves you through a sequence of assisted stretches rather than working on you while you lie still.
People describe it as being carefully stretched by someone who knows exactly where they are tight. It suits stiffness and restricted movement better than soreness in one spot, and Nancy will say so honestly if what you have described sounds like a job for deep tissue instead.
