Traditional Thai — you stay clothed and the therapist stretches you through a sequence using hands, forearms, elbows and feet. Best for stiffness, restricted movement and desk-bound bodies. Not a gentle option.

Full-body relaxation with oil — lighter, slower, for stress and sleep rather than a specific complaint. Deep tissue — slow, firm pressure into one problem area; expect to feel it the next day. Sports — built around training and recovery. Foot reflexology — for people on their feet all day. Four hands — two therapists at once, more of an experience than a treatment.

What a Massage in Dubai Actually Costs

At home in Dubai, an hour runs from roughly AED 199 at the cheap end to AED 350 and above. Hotel and resort spas sit far higher again, often several times that for a signature treatment.

The number quoted is rarely the number paid. Home services in Dubai commonly add a travel or call-out charge on top, and it is often only mentioned at the end. When you compare two prices, you are usually not comparing the same thing — ask both what the final total will be at your address, at the hour you want.

How to Tell a Good Service From a Bad One

Five questions separate a service worth booking from one that is not. None of them are about the website.

Check the Licence Before Anything Else

Ask whether the therapist holds a Dubai Health Authority licence. A great deal of what is advertised for massage in Dubai is not licensed at all, and the licence is what distinguishes a regulated therapist from someone with a phone number and a listing. A service that will not answer this plainly has answered it.

Ask What the Price Actually Includes

Ask specifically whether transport is inside the quote, whether there is a surcharge for late hours or for your area, and whether the therapist brings a bed, towels and sheets or expects to use yours. These are where a low headline price quietly becomes a higher bill.

Decide Between a Spa and Your Own Home

A spa gives you the room, the steam and somebody else’s towels. Home gives you no drive afterwards, which matters more than people expect — a good session is largely undone by twenty minutes in traffic. Traditional Thai in particular needs floor space to move you around, which most living rooms have and most spa cubicles do not.

Ask Who Is Actually Coming

Ask whether the therapist is employed by the company or picked up from a marketplace, whether you can request male or female, and whether you can ask for the same person again. Booking apps often cannot answer any of the three.

Treat a Very Low Price as a Question

A very cheap hour is not automatically bad, but it is worth asking what is paying for it — an unlicensed therapist, a travel charge added later, or a session that runs to fifty minutes rather than sixty. Ask, and see whether the answer is specific.
